A youth was found hanging from a tree near the railway tracks at Sant Hirdaram Nagar under Bairagarh police station area late in the night on Tuesday. Police are suspecting the death, as there are injury marks on the body.
After spotting the deceased hanging at around 11 in the night, police were informed and on the receipt of the information a team reached the spot and started investigation.
The deceased was identified as Shrawan Kushwaha (20) of Vidisha and his identity was established from Aadhar card recovered in the investigation.
The deceased used to work at a factory in Mandideep.
Investigating Officer SI Subesh Saiyam said that after receiving the information at around 11 police team rushed to the spot but it took around two hours to find the body. Injury was found in his left leg but the reason of injury is not known. The post mortem report is awaited.
The deceased used to travel daily for work from Vidisha and reason behind the death would be investigated, he added.
The deceased committed suicide or he was killed and hanged there could not be ascertained at the moment and could be revealed in the further investigation after receiving the post mortem report.
After the preliminary investigation, the body was sent for the autopsy and a case under section 174 of the CrPC was registered. Blood stains have been found over the shirt of the dead which suggests that he was killed and later hanged.
