Two cases of suicides were reported in the city over the last 24 hours. A dejected youth embraced death after his marriage was fixed against his wish while a married woman committed suicide. The reason of suicide remained unknown.
Unhappy with the marriage fixed against his wish, a 26-year-old Amit Rawat, who worked with BHEl, committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at Bhawani Dham under Piplani police station area on Sunday, said police. Amit was rushed to Kasturba hospital where he was declared brought dead. The revelations regarding the marriage were confirmed after the suicide note was found from the residence of the victim.
Investigation Officer Shahbaz Khan said the deceased, in the suicide note, was upset over his marriage which was fixed by his parents without his consent. Police have sent the body for the post mortem and a case was registered. Meanwhile, a 47-year-old married woman committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at Bawadia Kalan under Shahpura police station area on Saturday. Police said Pushpa Singh was found hanging at her residence and was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead.
Reason of the suicide remains unknown and would be confirmed during the investigation. Police were informed and after preliminary investigation the police have registered a case and have sent the body for post mortem.
