A 25-year-old youth died after his motorbike was hit by a speeding vehicle at Pansheel Nagar under Chunabhatti police station area late in the evening on Thursday.
Police said that an injured youth was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died during treatment. The youth got injured after his motorbike bearing registration number MP04-MT-9635 was hit by a speeding vehicle. Police were informed and on the receipt of the information a team reached the spot and started investigation.
In the initial investigation, the deceased was identified as Shobhit Pawar of Harshvardhan Nagar.
The accident took place at around 10.15 pm and when he was declared dead when he was rushed to a nearby hospital.
The deceased was on his way to home after work. The deceased after completing his engineering started working for a private firm and was returning from work when he met with an accident. In the initial investigation police found have not found any detail of the errant vehicle and driver.After preliminary investigation, the body was sent for post mortem.
The police have registered a case under section 304 A of IPC and have started search for the errant driver. During the investigation CCTV cameras of the nearby areas would be investigated said the police. The locals were not able to provide details of the vehicle as it escaped the spot speedily.
The deceased was in an inebriated state could not be ascertained and would be revealed after receiving the post mortem report.
