A 18-year-old youth died while another escaped with injuries after their car was hit by a speeding harvester near Narela petrol pump under Berasia police station area, late on Wednesday night.
According to the police, a car was hit by harvester and two man who were severely injured in the car were rushed to hospital where one of them was declared dead while one escaped with injuries.
The deceased was identified as Atul Sahu while injured was identified as Akash alias Nikki. Police said that the accident took place when harvester tried to overtake a vehicle but failed and hit the car.
The police have registered a case under section 304 A of the IPC and have started further investigation to search the errant driver who escaped leaving the harvester.
The deceased used to work as labourer. The condition of the injured youth is reportedly critical. The two were in inebriated state could not be ascertained.
Meanwhile, a 50-year-old man committed suicide by hanging with the gate of GPO under Kotwali police station area on Wednesday.
The police said that the deceased Jagan Singh was found hanging with the gate with a cable and declared dead when rushed to a nearby hospital.
During the investigation police found that the deceased was a Haryana resident and used to visit Bhopal with truck as he worked as cleaner.
After the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and started further investigation. It was a suicide or nor would be investigated said police.
