A prime accused was arrested in connection with murder of his friend in Gormi police station limits, police said. Sub-Divisional Officer of Police BK Mahore said on Sunday that Vijaygarh village resident Ajay Sharma (26) gave Rs40,000 to his friend Rajaram Kevat as loan about eight months ago. But when Ajay asked for the money, Rajaram refused to return. However, he called Ajay over telephone and asked him to come near a canal in lalkapura village on February 10 after promising to pay back the money.
Rajaram had booze with Ajay, who subsequently became unconscious and Rajaram and three others killed him after putting him into water. Mahore said after a thorough investigation, police arrested Rajaram on Saturday while his accomplices Gormi Kushwah, Maan Singh and Puran Singh were still at large.
