A 22-year old youth died while a girl sustained injuries after the motorbike they were riding was hit by a speeding vehicle at VIP Road under Koh-e-Fiza police station area late in the night on Wednesday; the two were returning after celebrating birthday of girl’s sister.
According to the police, a youth and a girl were injured after a speeding vehicle hit their motorbike they were riding and were rushed to a nearby hospital where the youth was declared dead and girl escaped with injuries.
The deceased was identified as Deep Sinha who was a resident of Saeed Nagar and was on his way to lalghati with his friend Shewta Mishra (24) but met an accident at VIP road.
Investigating Officer ASI Hardev Singh said that two left the hotel lake View Ranjeet after celebrating birthday of Shweta’s sister. The accident took place at 11.30 pm when the two were near Khanugaon and were hit by a speeding vehicle. During the investigation it was found that the vehicle was a truck but details of the truck were found and would be investigated.
Shewta is a resident of Arera Colony and is undergoing treatment at Suditi hospital. Her condition is critical and is under observation, he added.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem.
The post mortem report is awaited which could help in obtaining details about the deceased had taken liquor or not.
The police have registered a case under section 304-A of the IPC and have started further investigation.
