A 21-year-old youth was booked by Bajaria police for molesting a 19-year-old Dalit girl on Monday. Victim was abused and teased by the accused auto rickshaw driver. According to the police, the victim Maya Uike, who is a resident of Coach Factory Colony, was teased by auto rickshaw driver Akash Bundela at different places in the area. After the complaint was lodged, the accused went missing and is still at large.
The victim has not named the others, who used to harass her with the main accused, but police have found during the investigation that the accused along with his friends would use to tease the victim and along with the victim, there were many other girls, who have been molested by the accused and his accomplices.
Accused and his friends used to obstruct her way whenever she would visit Chola Mandir area. Bundela is a resident of Dwarika Nagar and used to work as an auto rickshaw driver. Dejected over the continuous teasing and molestation, victim lodged a complaint and after the preliminary investigation, police have registered case against Akash Bundela.
Police said that the accused was not nabbed as he went missing after the victim visited the police station to lodge a complaint against him. The case was later transferred to AJK police which would investigate the matter further. The AJK police have said that the case would be investigated and the whereabouts of the accused would be investigated. The police have registered a case under section 354, 506 and 3(1)(2) SC/ST Prevention of Atrocity Act.
