The Indore district police have registered a case of rape against a youth for cheating a woman, who was in a live-in relationship with him for the past over two years.
The accused has been identified as Amit Shrivastava, son of RK Shrivastava, a resident of lalitpur (Uttar Pradesh).
According to a complaint lodged by the victim with the Vijay Nagar police, the accused, lived with the victim, a Scheduled Caste girl in a live-in relationship for about two years on assurance of marrying her. CSP Vijay Nagar, KK Sharma informed that the victim Neena (name changed), a 25-year old resident of Vijay Nagar locality in the city, had met the accused in 2011. Thereafter, the duo started living together in a live-in relationship in Sethi Nagar and Amar Vilas flats on the promise that the accused would marry her.
When the victim started exerting pressure on lalit for marriage, the latter dillydallied the matter and left the city on May 15, 2013.
In the meantime, the victim contacted the accused several times through mobile phones but the accused always ignored her on some pretext or other. Finally when the victim realized that she had been physically exploited by the accused all this period, she lodged a complaint of rape against the accused with Vijay Nagar police on Monday.
