Governor Ram Naresh Yadav awarded a city youth on August 15 at Raj Bhavan for showing courage to knock out thieves from his residence and locality. He was also felicitated by the IG of Bhopal on July 11 for the same act of bravery.
The youth, Abhishek Raghuvanshi, a resident of Santoshi Vihar Ayodhya By Pass Road, informed police about the thieves after he failed to catch them.On April 24, a burglary took place at Ayodhya Nagar By Pass Road when Balwant Singh Raghuvanshi, 48, was robbed of around Rs2 lakh on April 24.When his son Abhishek tried to catch the accused, they attacked him, although, the youth sustained only minor injuries on hand. Abhishek tried to catch the thieves and immediately informed police.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, leader of Opposition, Home Minister Babulal Gaur, Suresh Pachauri, Kailash Joshi were present. Along with Abhishek Raghuwanshi, his father Balwant Singh Raghuvanshi, brother Surendra Singh Raghuvanshi and other family members were also present.
