Kolar police have arrested a youth for sexually assaulting and exploiting a 16-year-old girl, incident surfaced after girl got pregnant.
According to the police, the matter came to the fore after the victim had pain in the stomach and went to a clinic where it was found that the victim is pregnant. Police said that the victim was sexually assaulted by accused identified as Rahul Sahu who lives in the same locality. The accused used to sexually exploit the victim.
The girl was not aware of pregnancy and recently when she had a pain in stomach it was found that she was pregnant.
The police after preliminary investigation registered a case against the accused.
A case under sections 376 and 506 of the IPC and sections 3 and 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual offence Act 2012 and ST-ST Prevention of Atrocities Act was registered against the accused.
The family found that the girl was pregnant.
They tried to convince the accused for marriage but the accused refused and abused the family of caste.
Police said that they two used to live in the same locality and would meet during which the accused committed the atrocity. Based on the complaint, a case was registered and the accused was arrested by the police. Further investigation has been started.
