A 22-year-old youth was nabbed by Katara Hills police on the charge of attempt to rape a seven-year-old girl in Shahpura area on Friday. The accused left the victim after she started crying in pain.
The heinous crime was committed by the accused identified as Awdesh Kumar Sanket who lured the girl by giving her money and chocolates.
Police said that victim was lured by the victim while on her to way to aunt’s home in the same locality and when the accused found her alone he took her inside his house and tried to rape her but when she started crying in pain accused left her and threatened her not to report the incident to anyone.
The victim returned home and reported the incident to her mother and later a complaint was lodged with the Katara Hills police. Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation a case of abduction, attempt to rape and POCSO was registered and later in the investigation accused was nabbed by the police.
Meanwhile, in another incident of sexual assault Baghsewania police have booked a miscreant for sexually assaulting and exploiting a 28-year-old woman for the past three years.
In the year 2015 victim met the accused identified as Puneet Tiwari and later developed relationship with her by luring her of marriage but later refused to marry. The victim got married after which accused continued to pressurize her for developing relationship which the victim refused and frustrated over the harassment she lodged a complaint with the police. Police have registered case and started investigation.
