YI Bhopal has taken up the task of beautifying the premises of Central Jail Bhopal. This includes
plantation drives, Swachchh Bharat activities and other social initiatives like donation of bicycles.
There are more activities to be planned in near future. To inaugurate the Jail landscaping project and to mark the World Environment Day, a Jail visit was planned on Thursday.
On the occasion of World Environment Day on Thursday, CII Young Indian Bhopal chapter members organised a plantation drive at Central Jail Bhopal. YI has donated 80 plants to the Central Jail authorities which will be planted before the next monsoon by inmates. The plant donation was part of a the new initiative of YI to engage jail inmates in different activities such as gardening, fabrication, metal works, and soft skills development that would provide them employment after they come out and will keep them away from turning back to crimes. As told by YI Co-Chair Rakesh Sukhramani.
The initiative was highly appreciated by Jail superintendent MR Patel. He thanked YI members for their support and expressed his expectations towards the young generations for bringing change in the society.
He added that people inside the jail are also victims of fate and should not be outcast by the society. They are kept away to make them for a social life and it’s our duty to keep them motivated and positive to improvement. During the jail visit the prisoners gave instrumental performances.
