Former PCC Chief Arun Yadav, contesting against Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan from Budhni seat, here on Thursday reached Chief Electoral Office urging to declare Budhni a hypersensitive constituency.
In the complaint, the Congress candidate Yadav mentioned CM Shivraj was set to lose the poll and it was his matter of prestige so the entire constituency should be declared hypersensitive. The former Union Minister was carrying a list of 63 polling booths where the Congress only got handful of votes in previous polls and the lion’s share of votes go to Chouhan. We can’t rule out possibility of booth capturing aided by the BJP and local musclemen, claimed Yadav.
CCTV at polling booths, videography of polling, deployment of Central forces two days ahead of voting and special observer from outside was among Yadav’s demands from the commission. He also demanded no government staffer posted in Budni should be involved in poll processes. We would forward the complaint to Election Commission of India as well, Yadav claimed later.
Earlier speaking to the media at PCC, Yadav alleged despite being the constituency of three time Chief Minister and five time MP, Budni only exhibits mud smeared villages everywhere. Basic amenities including road, water and electricity, widow pension and others are not available in Budni, said Yadav adding that he has visited 200 villages in 10 days.
Alleging that thousands of acres of farm land were snatched by the administration at throwaway prices, the Congress leader claimed the land was given away to private industries in the region and these manufacturing failed to offer jobs to the local youth.
Referring to the viral videos in which locals are seen slamming Chouhan’s wife Sadhna and son Kartikeya, for dearth of basic amenities, the Khargone MP claimed people approach him and narrate the same ordeals in front of him at several places in Budhni.
