New District Collector of Gwalior Bharat Yadav assumed office from the outgoing collector, Ashok Varma on Tuesday. Immediately after taking charge Yadav held a meeting of the departmental heads at the conference hall of the collectorate.
Addressing the meeting, the new collector said that one of his top priorities is to make sure that the delivery system of the administration functions in a smooth and prompt way so that the public can avail the benefits of the government schemes without any hassle or delay. He also cautioned the departmental heads and other officers present that there will be regular follow-up and no compromise with work will be tolerated.
The collector also asked the officials to treat developmental works and pro poor schemes like loan waiver, Mukyamantri Kanyadan Yojana, land allotment procedure and CM Helpline as priorities.
The Collector further asked the officials to launch a drive against the black marketing of fertilizer in the district. He said that black marketing of fertilizer is a severe offence and the administration will initiate strict action against all those involved in the black marketing of it. He also asked the officials to immediately file FIRs against all such offenders.
The Collector instructed the Executive Engineer of the PWD to commence work on the Gwalior/ Rayru road by the 1st of January. He further instructed the EE to initiate talks with the National Highways Authority regarding the repair works to the depleted over bridge on the Gwalior bypass.
On the Health front the collector asked the concerned health officials to see that proper vaccination is done against measles and rubella diseases. He asked them to form a special task force for this purpose.
Yadav also asked the officials to update the voters list as per the instructions of the Election Commissioner. The collector further asked the officials to restart all the projects that have been suspended due to the code of conduct.
