Madhya Pradesh Congress president Arun Yadav on Friday said he is ready to accompany Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for meeting Central leader for seeking adequate assistance from the Centre for providing relief to farmers affected by excessive rains and hailstorm. While replying to a query by media, Yadav said, “I have not received any request from him in this regard.

But if he asks so, I would readily accompany him.”Admitting that the recent bad weather had caused total loss of crops, including food-grains and vegetables, in 49 districts out of 51, he said that the party had already informed about the matter to Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar and the Prime Minister's Office.Yadav said that he would meet the Prime Minster, and if possible the President, in this regard. Asserting that the Congress was not playing any politics over the matter and was only concerned with maximum compensation for affected farmers, Yadav demanded that the State Government provide cent per cent compensation at the rate of Rs20,000 per hectare to affected ryots. Besides, all the outstanding debt and power bills of these peasants should be waived. The State Congress chief also appealed to people to take part in the Madhya Pradesh bandh being organised tomorrow to protest against the multi-layered Professional Examination Board scam. However, Ujjain has been kept outside the purview of bandh on account of Shanichari Amavasya tomorrow. Similarly, Sidhi has been kept free from bandh because of municipality elections.
