City's Government Women Polytechnic College becomes the first NBA accredited college.
Government Women Polytechnic College, has become the first polytechnic college in the State to accredit its 2 courses from the National Board for Accreditation (NBA). These are 2 courses are Architecture and Interior Design Department and Computer Science and Engineering Department.
The achievement from NBA means that outcome based education is provided in this college. It is noteworthy that now every technical education institute has got accreditation from the NBA.
It is noteworthy that NBA reflects higher levels of education, as well as the degree or diploma of students studying from such colleges are recognized worldwide. Principal of the college K. V. Rao has congratulated this while describing it as a historical achievement. At the same time, he expressed the hope that this achievement of our college will prove to be milestone in making the state's technical education superior.
It is noteworthy that in the acquisition of accreditation from the NBA, the qualitative steps were taken by women polytechnic at every level of the institution and the academic department are important. Here, education levels are being made world-class for the last several years. Academic and administrative reforms and innovative teaching methods were adopted for this. According to the vision of the college, different courses were made outcome based on different courses.
Outcome based curriculum is taught by the well qualified faculty to Innovative Teaching Methods, which makes students understand the difficult subject.
Apart from this, the well-equipped modern laboratories and workshops such as 3D printing IOT model making embedded systems etc. were introduced, so that students are familiar with the latest technology trends. College's Training and Placement Cell was updated. This cell promoted industry interaction in the college. MOU was done with the institutions based on the industry.
Industrial visits, Expert lectures, site visits were brought to the routine of curriculam, from which girls got better exposure. Regular training is done by this cell to the faculty. Women Polytechnic has membership of three student chapters. There is also a registered Alumni Association which connects the pass outs to the college. Departmental Alumni Meets are also organized in the college.
Extre curricular activities are organized to give platform to the talents of girls. Green campus, Weekly Sports and fitness activities such as zumba, athelitics competitions are organized. Here is an open gym. At present, admission in five diploma courses is also being given, where outcome based education can be obtained in very low fees taking advantage of all the schemes of the government.
