Earlier I used to break gravels, now I am A-Class contractor. This was stated by woman entrepreneur of Rajgarh lila Bai at sectoral seminar of “Women Entrepreneurs” during Global Investors Summit at Indore on Thursday.
Anita Bai and her associates of Kesla in Hoshangabad district informed that apart from running their own cooperative society, they also impress upon women to fight against social evils.
Rekha Pradan of Dindori informed that 1500 women are associated with the group. The group does work related to kodu-kutki. She informed that people have got rid of moneylenders after joining self-employment groups.
President of Madhya Pradesh Association of Women Entrepreneurs Archana Bhatnagar said that counselling as per interest of male and female students should be imparted at school and college levels. She informed that she had started her business with Rs. 500 when her child was one year old. She said that women can start self-employment availing benefit of government schemes. Bhatnagar said that there is always scope for improvement. Therefore she never quit habit of learning. She also informed about availability of market, finance and technology.
Director Omega Rank Bearing Deepa Prakash said that conditions are conducive in Madhya Pradesh for women entrepreneurs. She also narrated her story of becoming an entrepreneur.
Mentor of Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust Ajay Joshi informed about various processes of starting business. He informed that loans worth Rs. 72 crore have been distributed to various entrepreneurs. Joshi informed that women are given free counselling.
Commissioner Women and Child Development Kalpana Shrivastava informed about various schemes of the state government for women to set up self-employment. She also informed about development process of women entrepreneurs from 200 BC to 2014. Shrivastava informed that 27 thousand women in the state are associated with various entrepreneurship activities. Principal Secretary Women and Child Development JN Kansotiya replied to questions of women entrepreneurs.
