A group of women from Railway Colony tried to block railway tracks at Mohana station on Thursday in connection with the disappearance of a railway pointsman Chhotelal Yadav 12 days ago. Suspecting that the victim has been abducted, they demanded immediate registration of an FIR. On receipt of information about the agitation by the women, the officers of district police and GRP reached the spot. The agitating women alleged that the police are not taking seriously the disappearance of Chhotelal and the police are still treating it as the case of ‘missing person’ instead of abduction.
Pointsman Chhotelal Yadav, posted at Mohna railway station, had went missing mysteriously when he went to change the point of a train on February 1. The police checked the forest in search of Chhotelal Yadav, but could not trace him or the Ghisha gang, as it was suspected that the gang was behind disappearance of the employee.
The police are still searching him, but even after 12 days when there was no trace of Chhotelal, the women living in the Railway Colony of Mohna started shouting slogans and blocked the railway tracks. On receipt of information, the GRP police station in-charge Vinod Singh Chouhan reached the spot with force and informed the police control room. The women told the police that the agitation would continue till Chhotelal Yadav returns home safely.
Addl SP (rural) Yogeshwar Sharma said that the search of pointsman Chhotelal Yadav is still on and the police would soon find him. Raids are being conducted at possible places and the suspicious people are being interrogated. The police are making all out efforts for safe return of Chhotelal, he added.
