A 35-year-old woman Phool Bai, who had accidentally reached West Bengal eight months ago, reached her home in Raghogarh tehsil of Guna district. However, the administration is facing problems in dealing with the woman, as she has lost her mental balance for being away from her five-year-old son for more than eight months.
The woman was first located by West Bengal Radio Club in North 24 Pargana district. After she was treated in a government hospital there, Club members including Somnath Adhikary and Sufal Mazumdar along with a team of police personnel from Titagarh police station of North 24 Pargana district took the woman to Guna.
While talking to ‘The Pioneer’, Deputy Collector in Raghogarh Shivani Raikwar told that the woman is being treated at ‘One Stop Centre’. “She is a bit violent too and the volunteers at the centre faced problems in dealing with her,” she told. After she becomes mentally stable, the administration would decide, whether she should be sent to Nari Niketan, in Gwalior, she added.
Raikwar further informed that woman’s husband Karan Singh had declined to recognize Phool Bai and still absconding. Besides, her parents are also not coming up to take her responsibility, she added. Notably, the woman had somehow reached Howrah railway station and then reached Behrampur station. While sleeping at the platform, her left leg’s fingers were damaged by mice. From there, Phool Bai was admitted to BN Bose hospital.
