Woman seeks protection for unborn child

A five-month pregnant woman here on Tuesday afternoon lodged a complaint with Mahila police station demanding security for her unborn child from a youth Hitesh, father of the unborn baby. She accused him of cheating on her and trying to kill her unborn baby that she had mothered with him. The complainant Swati (name changed), a native of Sagar, in her  complaint with the police said that after her failed marriage few years back, she befriended a person called  Hitesh, a native of Ujjain in an event in Indore two years back. During the course of their subsequent meetings with him, both of them became close.

She said that the accused promising to marry her, had established physical relation with her and it continued frequently. After she got pregnant with him, Swati went to Hitesh’s residence in Ujjain and to her utter dismay, came to know that he was already married. Subsequently she lodged a complaint against him with Mahila police station, Ujjain but so far no action had been taken by Ujjain police in this regard with the accused roaming around freely without any fear of being caught.

Swati in her complaint said that Hitesh two days back had asked her to meet him in Vijay Nagar locality of the city. When she met him, the latter insisted her to withdraw case against him in Ujjain. When she refused to do that, the accused threatened her and even tried to kill her baby in the womb by punching her stomach repeatedly. Apparently perturbed over getting no support from any one, she finally met the DIG Indore and reeled out her story to him. It was only after instruction from DIG that Mahila police station on Tuesday lodged a complaint against the youth.
