Hanumanganj police have booked a youth for sexually assaulting a 32-year-old woman at a flat at Dawa Bazaar; accused sedated victim and later raped her.
The victim was threatened by the accused to defame the victim and told to keep mum. The accused tried to molest the woman for the second time also, but he could not succeed. Somehow, the victim who managed to fle the spot, reached Hanumanganj police station along with her family members and lodged a case under different sections including rape.
Police said that victim lives in Hanumanganj area works in a gym and became friend with Himanshu Gupta in October 2021. He told that he supplies gym equipment. If he needs something, he can get it for less money.
The woman alleged that on the pretext of seeing the goods, on the afternoon of January 16, she was offered to visit a flat located in the dawa bazaar. The woman alleged that Himanshu gave her chocolates to eat and cold drinks to drink. As soon as he ate the chocolate, he started fainting.
Taking advantage of this, Himanshu raped her and after about half an hour, when she regained consciousness, she realized that she had been raped. On protesting Himanshu threatened to kill and defame him.
Police have registered a case against the accused and started searching for him. The accused is absconding since the incident.
