Two bike-borne miscreants snatched a gold chain worth `50,000 from a 50-year-old woman near Siddharth lake City under Piplani police station area late on Thursday night.According to the police, Uma Sharma was on her way to home after shopping with her daughter, when she was attacked by two bike borne miscreants, who later escaped with the gold chain from the spot. The victim lodged a complaint with the Piplani police and claimed that she had gone to vegetable market at Piplani and while they were returning they were attacked near a speed breaker and snatched the gold chain she was wearing.
She claimed that the gold chain was worth `50,000. The speed breaker near her society is of big size and as soon as the speed of the scooter was decelerated by her daughter Seema, the miscreants attacked the victim and escaped with the gold chain. Police claimed that the two have not sustained injuries as the speed was very low but were not able to save them from the robbery.The incident took place at around 11 pm and at the time of the incident the area was deserted. The victims raised alarm for help but all in vain.
The victim claimed that the pillion rider snatched the gold chain, the two were youths in the age group of 20-25 years but the details of the bike and other details of the youths were not available with the victim due to low light. The police have registered a case under section 392 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
