On the pretext of facilitating job, a 29-year-old married woman was sexually assaulted at Manuabhan ki Tekri under Koh-e-Fiza police station area. A case of rape has been registered in this regard on Tuesday.
According to the police, few months ago the accused Guddu Miyan alias Bholenath of Jehangirabad helped in obtaining ration card from concern authorities and told her that he could facilitate a job for her if she is interested.
On October 2 the accused informed the victim about a job and asked her to meet him at Bairagarh bus stand.When the victim reached the bus stand accused took her to Manuabhan ki Tekri and sexually assaulted her and threatened her of dire consequences. She was advised to keep mum.
The victim lodged a complaint with the Koh-e-Fiza police station and after investigation a case was registered by the police.
Police said the victim lives in Bairagarh and she met the accused at the district Collector office where she has gone to inquire about the process of obtaining ration card. At the district office accused approached her and asked the reason of her visit and details of job and personal details.
The victim belongs to reserved category due to which charges under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities were also imposed. The case has been transferred to AJK police and the further investigations would be handled by AJK police.
The police have registered a case under section 376 and 506 of the IPC and have started further investigation. Till the filing of the report no arrest was made.
