After being raped by her brother-in-law and harassed by her husband along with her mother-in-law, a 22-year-old woman lodged a complaint with the Woman Police on Saturday.
According to the Woman Police the victim Mehnaz Khan was married to Faisal Khan nine years ago. In the complaint the victim has alleged that she was raped on April 15, 2013 by her brother-in-law Sohail Khan (35). She told the police that everything was going well but few years ago Faisal started harassing her and alleged that she has illicit relationship with his brother Sohail Khan (35). Faisal also alleged that the children are the result of the illicit relationship. The victim has two children a nine-month-old boy Musa and 7-year-old Fuzail.
Victim’s brother Mohd Athar told The Pioneer that his father died long ago and their financial condition was not good enough to support a family of eight. The victim was married at a very early age. Faisal used to work at Sabzi Mandi but later started working as building contractor. Few years ago he developed relationship with a woman and the harassment and torture followed.
After being treated badly and raped she was threatened not to complain but she approached the woman police and lodged a complaint against his brother-in-law, husband and mother-in-law. Fearing any assault the victim is living at Budhwara with his family. After the preliminary investigations the woman police have registered a case under section 498(A) and 376 of the IPC.
