A 53-year old woman professor was robbed of her gold chain worth Rs50,000 near Chetak bridge under Govindpura police station area on Thursday.
Police said the victim Surbhi Shrivastava was relieved of her gold chain near Chetak Bridge while she was waiting for help to repair her car.
The incident took place at around 5 pm when the victim was on her way to home at Kasturba and near Chetak Bridge her car broke down and while she was waiting for help two bike borne miscreants robbed her gold chain.
Victim lodged a complaint with the Govindpura police.
Shocked with the attack victim raised alarm but the miscreants managed to escape. Victim is a resident of Kasturba Nagar and works as a professor with Motilal Vigyan Mahavidyalaya (MVM).
The police have registered a case under section 392 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
Based on the details provided by the victim, the police have started search for the miscreants.
