A 32-year old woman was killed after her scooter was hit by a speeding Tata Magic Van at laxmi Mandi under Jehangirabad police station area late on Fridaynight.
According to the police, at around 10.30 pm a scooter was hit by a speeding Tata Magic van injuring the rider who was rushed to a nearby hospital and later died during treatment.
The deceased was identified as Fauzia Khan who hailed from Mandideep and was on her way back to home. She used to work with a beauty parlour and after completion of her work was on her way to home. Her husband Amaan works with a private firm. Police found that the errant van which hit the scooter of the deceased was bearing registration number MP04-T-9737.
The incident took place near petrol pump at laxmi Mandi when the scooter of deceased was hit by a speeding Tata Magic van due to which she lost control of the vehicle and fell from the scooter and was hit by the van again in which she sustained serious injuries. She was rushed to Hamidia hospital where she succumbed to injuries later during the treatment.
After the incident errant driver escaped the spot with the vehicle. The police have registered a case under section 304 A of the IPC and have started further investigation.
Based on the registration number of the vehicle search for the errant vehicle and driver has been started by the police.
