A 65-year-old woman died after she was hit by a speeding private bus at Roshanpura square under TT Nagar police station area on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Seeta, a resident of Banganga area. She used to work as domestic help.
The police said the deceased was hit by a speeding bus in the early morning hours when she was on her way to work in Sindhi Colony. The injured was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead.
After the preliminary investigation by police, the body was sent for post mortem.
The police have registered a case under Section 304 A of the IPC and have started further investigation.
The bus driver escaped from the spot leaving the bus bearing registration number MP04-BA-3256 which was later seized by the police.
The bus was Indore bound bus which started journey at around 7.30 am from the city and hit the deceased at Roshanpura Square. The bus belongs to Verma travels.
