A 27-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at her residence in Rachna Nagar under MP Nagar police station area on Tuesday. According to the police Swati Barive was found hanging by her roommate Vandana at her apartment in Rajhans Colony of Rachna Nagar area on Tuesday morning.
Victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead. Police were informed and the body was sent for the post mortem after preliminary investigation.
Victim’s father is posted with Superintendent Engineer at Electricity production unit Sarni. A suicide note was recovered in which the deceased claimed she was frustrated from her life and wanted to end her life.
The deceased used to work as assistance with a construction firm. The police registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation. Vandana, who is friend and roommate of the deceased told the police that engagement of victim was done around a year ago but few days ago the relationship turned sour between the two and later the engagement was broken. The victim was not able to bear the pain and took the extreme step.
Police said that the call details of the victim and fiancée would be searched as the reason behind the suicide is still remains unclear. Family was informed and on the receipt the family reached the city.
