A 25-year old woman, who was roughed up by her husband for delay in serving food on Saturday, succumbed to her injuries on Sunday morning at a private hospital in Berasia.
According to the police, the victim, Asma Bee of lalaria village under Berasia police station area, had a fight with her husband Arif Khan after she failed to serve food on time which irritated Arif and he started abusing her. The abuse soon turned physical when Arif took a wooden object and hit her on her head and escaped.
After the attack she was rushed to a nearby hospital. The victim had sustained critical injuries and slipped into coma. She died at the hospital.
Police said that profuse bleeding was the reason of her death. Police were informed and on receipt of information a police team was rushed to the spot and Arif was booked for beating her wife.
After preliminary investigation the police have sent the body for the post-mortem. Police have registered a case under section 302 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
