Chhola Mandir police have nabbed a 30-year-old woman and seized 6 kg of cannabis worth Rs 60,000 from her possession on Monday from Shankar Nagar area; her two accomplices fled the scene, said police.
According to the police, acting on a tip off a woman was nabbed from Shankar Nagar area and recovered 60 kg of drugs from her possession. The nabbed woman was identified as Manju Kuchbandia of Shankar Nagar colony.
Investigating Officer SI SPS Chandel said that the nabbed accuse confessed that her elder sister Sunita has provided the drugs which was scheduled to the sold and she was handed over the drugs by longa Bai. The two went absconding after Manju was arrested and are still missing.
Search for the two has been intensified and after their arrest the network could be unearthed. The source of drugs is yet to be searched as the nabbed accused was not aware of the source and was not aware about the buyers. longa Bai the main accused is the key whose arrest could help in revealing the details of the drugs and where it was scheduled to be delivered, he added.
A case under NDPS act has been registered by the police. The nabbed accused would be questioned in the further investigation.
