Forum of Women in Public Sector (WIPS), BHEL, Bhopal celebrated International Woman’s Day on Tuesday through online platform. The theme for this year is “Self Actualization - a Step Towards Power Sharing”.
The programme began with Bhel Geet followed by Lamp Lighting and Saraswati Vandana by our WIPS members. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Sushil Kumar Baveja, GM & Head, BHEL Bhopal. A.K.Behera, GM (HR) was the Presiding Officer.
Nivedita Ganguli, Principal DAV School, Ahmedabad and renowned psychologist and trainer was the Guest Speaker for the function. All GMs/ DROs and HODs were also part of the program. This time being online, all WIPS members participated in this function from various locations of the factory.
Mamta Dingrocha, Unit Coordinator, WIPS, BHEL, Bhopal welcomed all the dignitaries, guest speaker, senior executives and WIPS members. She gave a brief about various activities carried out by WIPS Bhopal during this year.
A.K.Behera, GM (HR) and Presiding Officer appreciated and congratulated WIPS on the steps being taken by them for empowering women in Public sector. He said that women now are taking leadership roles not only in private organizations but also in PSUs.
He stressed that nowadays women across the world have advantage as they are paying heed to their inner conscience voice and are working shoulder to shoulder with men. Now women can be seen in defence services also. He stressed that in order to bring the change one needs to be the change. So we need to start from somewhere and on the way we will get people to support us.
Sushil Kumar Baveja, GM & Head, BHEL Bhopal said that God has made women special and they think smartly and are a source of change in society.
