Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam whistleblower and cyber expert Prashant Pandey on Friday said that he has sought one week's time from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to appear before it for questioning.
The CBI had summoned Pandey for interrogation on Friday. “I received notice from the CBI yesterday. I wrote back to them yesterday itself and sought one weeks time due to my grandmothers demise,” Pandey, a resident of Indore, told.
He claimed that he had installed spy cameras and other modern equipment in the office of Madhya Pradesh Police's Special Task Force (STF), which was probing the scam before CBI took over the case. Even many staff members in the STF office are also not aware about these cameras and microphones. I am in the possession of purchase-related documents of these equipment, said Pandey.
He said the petition on which the Supreme Court had directed the CBI to take over the scam's probe had also demanded that the STF hand over all the records to the CBI including recording devices. Pandey asserted that the recording would reveal what the accused and related persons told to investigating officials on the record and what did they disclose off the record. He demanded that a case should be registered against the STF if it had not provided all the evidence to the CBI.
“When I appear before the CBI, I would discuss about the issue,” he said.
