'Welcome to Karachi' hits big screens in Bhopal

The new comedy flick of Arshad Warsi and Jackky Bhagnani ‘Welcome to Karachi’ hit the theatres here on Friday. The adherent lovers of Arshad Warsi were noticed at the theatre halls. Directed by Ashish R Mohan the film shares the journey of a Gujarati guy and a suspended navy officer to Karachi by fate. The situations are all full of stupidity and as the poster of the film reads to survive they have to be stupid.

It is a story of Shammi Thakur (Arshad Warsi) and Kedar Patel (Jackky Bhagnani). Shammi, a naval officer discharged from duty because he sinks a submarine. Bhagnani is Kedar, a hardcore Gujju trying to get a visa to the US. Kedar’s father owns a boat for Hire Company. Somehow the two find themselves on a boat full of luscious hot phoren girls. They sing one song, and then a storm capsizes their boat, leaving the duo washed ashore in Karachi. A bomb blast on the beach kills many. Kedar and Shammi escape with minor injuries and find themselves in a hospital.

When they discover where on the world map they are, they resort to desperate measures to make their way back to India. ‘Hilarity’ ensues as they try to return to India, but are constantly captured by a string of caricature-ish goons and terrorists. The comic elements are somehow not too good but at some places it makes the audience laugh their hearts out. Arshad does his best performance with the correct timing and he was the one to watch throughout the movie. Further, the actress lauren also tried to impress the audience. Overall the movie is a onetime watcher and can be enjoyed with family.
