During surprise inspection of Girls Care Home, Woman and Child Development Minister Maya Singh directed to remove its superintendent on receipt of grave complaints. Expressing displeasure over mismanagement at the District Project Office, Singh directed to issue show-cause notices to Project Officer and an employee. Maya Singh undertook surprise inspection of Juvenile Home, Matrachhaya and Girls Protection Home here on Saturday.
When Singh reached Girls Protection Home at Arera Colony here, girl inmates made complaints against superintendent Nadira Qureshi. They said that instead of encouraging, the superintendent discourages girls and levels false allegations against them. She also threatens sometimes. Taking a serious note of girls’ complaints, Maya Singh directed to remove Qureshi from superintendent’s post with immediate effects.
The Women and Child Development Minister expressed displeasure over mismanagement prevailing in District Project Office during its inspection. The Minister rebuked the Project Officer on seeing files and documents lying scattered in the office and wheat lying in the open. She said that such mismanagement will not be tolerated in any office. She directed to issue show cause notice to Project Officer Nandita Mishra and clerk Manchhor Tiwari. She directed to improve arrangements and submit report within a week.
Singh also inspected Boys Juvenile Home in CI Colony Jehangirabad today. She found arrangements there satisfactory. She also interacted with children in the home. She noticed that some children are being kept there on account of committing minor crime. She directed the staff to ensure that their studies are not disrupted.
later, Maya Singh visited Matrachhaya at Maida Mill. She found that due to complexity, process of adopting children kept their takes upto 2 and half years. She directed to dispose of such cases at the earliest. The Minister said that she will hold discussions with law Minister in this regard.
