Woman and Child Development Minister Maya Singh will launch state-wide Anganwadi Chalo Abhiyan and milk distribution programme in anganwadis from Bhopal on July 15. The campaign to make available services of Anganwadi centres to children, pregnant and lactating mothers and bring them to centres will continue till July 22.Milk distribution to children of anganwadis will also get underway.Smt. Maya Singh will launch the campaign at Anganwadi centre at Ankur School at 10.30 am. The Minister will specially honour the children who attend Anganwadi centre regularly as well as their parents. She will also felicitate persons who have adopted children under Sneh Sarokar. The Minister will also flag off mobile Anganwadi Rath of Bhopal district.
Specific activity will be held everyday during the 7-day campaign. Plantation will be undertaken on the first day. Saplings of 5 species will be planted at every centre. Responsibility to nurture them will be entrusted to public representatives. Sports competitions will also be held. On the second day, children and adolescent girls will be apprised of importance of hygiene. The third day will be marked by painting and poster competitions, whose exhibition will also be put up.
Discussions will be held with participants and best painting and poster will be awarded. “Best Boy-Girl” competition of children from 3 to 6 years of age will be held on the fourth day. Experiences of senior citizens will be shared during “Dadi-Nani Samwad” on the fifth day. The sixth day to be observed as Mangal Diwas will be marked by first feeding of food to children and celebration of their birthday. The same day, families whose children do not come to Anganwadi will be apprised of importance of Anganwadi. Bal-Chaupal will be held on the seventh day of the campaign during which discussions will be held with parents.Along with anganwadis, activities will also be held at project, district and state levels during the 7-day event. These include various competitions in schools and colleges, Sneh Sarokar Sammelan, live phone-in broadcast etc.
