Ward 50 Corporator Vandana Arora’s husband Ajay Arora has on Tuesday lodged a complaint of unavailability of water to Municipal Corporation Commissioner Anay Dwivedi and Executive Engineer RlS Maurya.
Maurya immediately summoned contractor Rajeev Bohare and asked him as why the water is not being supplied despite the fact that the Corporation has around 20 days ago allotted him tender to lay down the pipeline from Brigade Tank to Madhoganj.
Maurya warned that the contract would be terminated if Bohare does not commence the work. He stressed to complete the work as early as possible and said that during summer season people require more water and if he lay the pipeline after the summer season, then it would not benefit the dwellers of that area. Contractor Rajeev Bohare replied that he hasn’t received the pipes so far due to which work has suffered.
According to the sources, it was informed that for last several years Jagtap Ki Goth, Darkare Ki Gali, Kotewali Gali, Jhulelal Mandir area, Madhoganj, Kapoor Chowk, Coolerwala Chowk and nearby areas are facing water problem.
Contract was given to lay down the pipeline from Brigade Tanki to Madhoganj Police Station but the contractor has not started the work due to which ward no 40, 47, 48 and 50 are receiving the water with low pressure.
Executive Engineer Maurya spotted Sub-Engineer Sanjay Solanki roaming in the office, whereas he was supposed to perform his duty at Mothijheel Plant. He pulled up Solanki saying that if he shirks his duties, then he should be prepared to face action.
