A day after the election for the constitution of the Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board (MPWB) was averted due to High Court (HC) stay the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the board was removed.
Seems like the MPWB and the controversies have become synonymous to each other, the board that was in the limelight for the last couple of months for its constitution and election of chairman suffered setback on Wednesday when the election procedure was stayed by the HC and on Thursday the State Government issued marching orders of its CEO Dawood Khan.
The State Government in its orders on Thursday sent back Khan to his parent department. He has been ordered to report in his parent department Minorities Welfare Department (MWD), though his removal almost became certain on Wednesday evening soon after the HC decision to stay the election of the chairman came. The State Government in its order provided the responsibility of CEO of the MPWB to NC Kishore, who would be having this responsibility as additional one while continuing his current responsibilities.
Notably, Khan also hold the additional responsibilities of the CEO of Madhya Pradesh State Haj Committee and secretary of the Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy. Sources from the State Government on condition of anonymity informed that his removal from the post of MPWB CEO is the beginning and soon he would be relieved of his other additional responsibilities and would be sent back to his parent organisation MED as the Upper Division Clerk, his actual designation.
Sources further said that he has paid the price for being extra active in politics and for his active involvement in the election of the board chairman, besides there were many complaints of irregularities in all the departments he is heading. It is also said that he played important role in the constitution of board that was against the norms and finally the court stay also came over it.
