An important decision of Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday in the infamous Vyapam scam providing slight relief to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and giving chance for BJP to celebrate has put the opposition Congress on the back foot.
Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) chief spokesman KK Mishra in a statement said, “The BJP is trying to create confusion over the apex court verdict, the fact is that the SC while disposing off the petition filed by senior Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh said that it would not do monitoring in the investigations of the CBI and ordered the investigating agency to complete its investigations in the remaining cases within three months.”
Mishra further said that as far as the issue of tempering of hard disk is concerned on what behalf is the CBI saying that no tempering was done, especially when the envelop of the investigation report the hard disk has not yet been opened. Is, CBI ready to say that in the similar issue the mirror image submitted by petitioner Prashant Pande in the court is wrongIJ If it is wrong than would action be taken against himIJ
He said that the celebrations by the BJP over disposal of this petition is limit of shamelessness and is the culmination of political shamelessness of BJP.
The senior Congress lead raised questions and asked that did BJP don’t believes that Vyapam scam took placeIJ That in that FIR was lodged against late governor and his son, his OSD went jail, CM’s OSD is on bail, minister of state government went jail, Vyapam’s Pankaj Trivedi, Nitin Mahendra and CRISP heaf Sudhir Sharma went jailIJ
Notably, SC’s two-judge bench comprising justices Ranjan Gogoi and NV Ramana said that it does not intend to further monitor the Vyapam scam case and granted four months to CBI to finish the pending investigation. The CBI has already taken over the probe in 117 cases related to the alleged Vyapam scam in which corruption has been alleged in the conduct of examinations by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB).
