The Mhow jail is once again in the limelight as four persons who came to visit a prisoner were attacked by other four persons who were present on the jail premises.
According to sources, the visitors had come to the jail to meet one Arjun Singh who is serving jail term for illegal trafficking of liquor and to meet Arjun Singh the visitors Virendra Singh Rajput, Udaisingh, Dharmendra Singh, Jitendra and Sunil Singh were standing on the main gate of the jail when four unknown persons who were present in the jail suddenly attacked these people.
They attacked Virendra Singh with knife in the head and chest and escaped on two-wheelers. The victim was taken to government hospital in the unconscious state. Mhow police have registered the case against the unknown accused. It is to be noted that in the year 2007 the criminals have shot one of the prisoners’ Jitu Thakur by entering into the jail and escaped away. locals alleged that the victim and the accused both are involved in liquor business and Mhow has become a big market of illegal sale of country made and foreign liquor.
Interestingly the Mhow jail was located at the secluded place in village Telikheda but the administration has constructed a 1 km cemented road from main road to Mhow jail in the year 2007 and after two months the Jitu Thakur was murdered in the Mhow jail and the accused smoothly came and escaped on bikes from the jail.
Again few months back the administration has spent 1 crore rupees and repaired and broadened this road which again has become a safe and smooth way for the criminals to escape from jail. locals alleged that when there is no population residing around the jail why the government is spending crores of rupees for constructing road till the jail.
This Government money can be used for constructing school building and toilets. Sources said that one of the school owners and few colonizers have purchased the land around the jail and when they will develop the colony in this area and besides this road they will get high value of their plots as they will promote that their colonies are easily approachable by government road.
