The BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvergiya’s twit on Saturday has come as a big embarrassment for the ruling BJP Government in Madhya Pradesh. Vijayvergiya whose controversial statements and twits on the social media platforms have landed him in controversies on various occasions, today once again caused an embarrassment to his own Government of which he had been a minister till sometime back.
Vijayvergiya twitted they had promised Indoreans of bringing Metro to the city as early as possible but the way Government is acting on it, it appears that instead of Metro, bullock cart will be coming to the city. His tweet on Indore metro today turned out to be a hot topic for debate in the political circle as it amounted to questioning his own Government at a time when Indore is hosting Global Investors Summit next month with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan making an all out efforts to lure both domestic as well as foreign investors to the summit.
Many leaders in the political circles here describe Vijayvergiya's tweet a move to sully the image of the BJP Government.
However, after sometime, realising the ramifications of his tweet, Vijayverigya made a modification in his tweet, holding state Government's officials responsible for the snail's pace of Metro project in Indore. His modified tweet read like this — ‘We had promised to start Metro in Indore but due to vested political interest of the officials, this project is running at the speed of bullock cart’.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has welcomed the tweeted statement of the BJP general secretary. AAP national spokesman and Madhya Pradesh convener Alok Agarwal reacting over Vijayvargiya’s tweet said, “The belated bold statement of BJP general secretary is welcomed by the people of the state.
He is definitely right and speaking truth that it is due to the state Government and its administration that all the development schemes and projects of the state could not even start till date.” Agarwal further said that the tweet of the senior BJP leader also makes it clear that the State Government is completely entangled in corruption due to that the people of the state are upset. This Government has not given anything except for hollow promises, he added.
He asked Vijayvargiya to disclose the names of the persons responsible in the Government and the administration due to which the development of state is not taking place.
