In a simple program held at Human Resource Development Center Sushil Kumar Baveja, General Manager & Head of Unit, BHEL Bhopal inaugurated the “Vertigo Testing Site” commissioned at HRDC. This testing site has been established to ensure enhanced safety of the employees delivering their service at positions of critical height.
A live test was attempted by two workers in this series, hiking at an elevated spot with complete safety gears – safety belt, fall arrester, life-line, safety net and other required gears. After careful assessment of the test by the doctor and HSE department, permission was granted to the workers to work at high altitudes.
Addressing the gathering, Baveja said that we should always be ready to adopt advanced system & processes related to safety. The establishment of this test site is a commendable effort in this direction, added Baveja. On this occasion General Manager (Hydro) S M Ramanathan, General Manager (HR) Adikanda Behera, General Manager (WEX, MOD & Township) S B Singh, union representatives and other senior officials were present.
