Miscreants decamped with valuables worth Rs4 lakh from Fortune City campus under Misrod police station area on Thursday.

According to investigating Officer SI BS Paul, the victim Shakeel Ahmed Qureshi following his daily routine went to work in the morning on Thursday. At around 7 pm his wife along with her son went to visit a doctor. They were accompanied by the victim and when they returned home at around 8.30 pm they found that the central lock of the main door was broken.

On entering the house they found that the house was ransacked and three necklaces were missing. Out of the three necklaces, one of the necklaces was diamond studded, he added.

The burglary took place within a short period of one and a half hour which suggests that some insider has tipped off the miscreants about the

movement of the family members which made the job easier for the miscreants, claimed Paul.

The victim approached the police and lodged a complaint with the Misrod police. Qureshi claimed that the ornaments were worth Rs4 lakh. The victim works with a private firm as a manager.

The Fortune City campus is considered as one of the safest covered campuses of the city and has security personnel guarding the campus round the clock. The security personnel have been questioned and the domestic helps were quizzed.
