Miscreants decamped with valuables worth lakhs of rupees from two shops at Malviya Nagar locality under TT Nagar police station area on Wednesday. According to police sources, a photocopy shop and jewellery shop were burgled on Wednesday night.
Police sources said that two adjacent shops were targeted by the burglars. Initially, the burglars broke the shutter of a photocopy shop and took the valuables. later, they made hole in the wall of the adjacent jewellery shop and took valuables and escaped.
Sanjay Photocopy shop was used as a passage to enter the adjacent Soni Brothers jewellery shop. The burglary came into light after photocopy shopkeeper Santosh Soni went to open his shop on Thursday morning and find valuables missing. He also found that a passage was made for entering the adjacent jewellery shop and subsequently he informed the owner of the jewellery shop.
A complaint was lodged with the TT Nagar police. In the complaint the victims were not able to provide the amount of loss and have told that the police have registered a case under section 457 and 380 of the IPC and have started further investigation. Police said the incident spot was inspected but nothing vital was found and the CCTV footages of the cameras installed nearby would be investigated.
