Madhya Pradesh Technical Education Minister Umashankar Gupta on Tuesday informed the Assembly that the vacant posts of directors in engineering colleges would be filled up soon. During the Question Hour, Tarun Bhanot of Congress raised the issue of non-appointment of directors in the engineering colleges during the past ten years and alleged the rules and regulations, laid by the All India Council of Technical Institution, were not followed and wanted to know whether any technocrat or bureaucrat were appointed for the posts. In his reply, the Minister said since there were no regular principals in engineering colleges and the appointment was being done from polytechnic colleges. He said the process of appointment would be regularised soon after a meeting with the chief secretary.
