The Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi would guarantee Tribals dignity and pride if the Congress is voted to power in Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections scheduled on November 25.
He visited the poll bound State on Thursday and tried to establish emotional chord with the tribals and youth of
the State.
Electioneering in Madhya Pradesh has started gaining momentum and Gandhi expressed these views while addressing a mammoth
gathering of tribals in Shahdol.
Gandhi addressing a public meeting Shahdol said, “Tribals share special relation with my family that is not political, its family bounding and our family relationship is since ages and old relationships could not be broken for simple reasons.”
Gandhi further said that there had been some strain in this family relationship in the recent past as some outsiders with their political interests tried to create misunderstandings between us but they would never succeed in their plans.
Our relationship would remain as usual and we would take care of each other like we had done in the past. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) does not respect Tribals and under its rule the dignity and self respect of the Tribals of the state has been ruined, he added.
Gandhi understanding the importance of the Tribal votes in the State remained focused on them throughout his speech in Tribal dominated Shahdol and promised all round development for them including maintaining of their respect, dignity, education and employment opportunities for the youth of community besides developing Tribal leadership by providing chances of entering assembly and parliament to the Tribal youth. Comprehensive development of the Tribals could only be done only when their representation would be increased in the assemblies and parliament, he added.
