UPA failed to protect country's integrity: CM

Published on:

The corruption and spiraling prices have ruined the life of the common man in the country and the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government at the Centre has miserably failed to protect the integrity of the country, said Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, while addressing the parliamentary conclave of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Gwalior on Monday.

Chouhan further said, "The Government that could not protect the integrity of the country does not have any right to remain in office. The chirming of the results of 16th Parliament has demoralized the Congressman. Realise the 'Mission 29' and make Madhya Pradesh Congress free."

The Chief Minister said that despite the partisan attitude of the Central Government, Madhya Pradesh has registered growth in every field and became the number one State of the country. He said, “For further changing the face and fate of the State, we should work for bringing the Modi-led BJP Government at the Centre and the ensuing lok Sabha election is the best opportunity to realise our dreams.”

He said that the State Government has opened the treasury for providing assistance to the hailstorm-hit farmers of the State.Farmers would get compensation from the State Government besides getting the benefits of crop insurance. Recovery of loans from the farmers has been deferred and the interest levied on farmers' loans would be borne by the State Government and for the next year, loan would be provided at zero per cent interest, he added.

Chouhan said that the BJP Government and the Chief Minister would not breach the trust of the people of the State.BJP State president and MP Narendra Singh Tomar in his address on the occasion said that the Atal Behari Vajpayee-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government had provided farsighted, imaginative and conceptual leadership to the country that was lauded by the world community.Time has come when we have to once again elect the BJP Government at the Centre for the comprehensive development of the country, he added.
