Unidentified miscreants burgled electronic goods worth Rs 1 lakh from meeting hall of Jail Headquarters at Arera Hills on April 24; a complaint was lodged by jail warder with Jehangirabad police on Thursday.
According to the police, the miscreants targeted meeting hall of the Jail Headquarters on April 24 and a complaint was lodged by jail warder Girija Shankar Prasad.In his complaint Girija stated that on April 24 he found that the meeting hall door was open and when he entered electronic good were found missing and when he checked
air conditioner, projector, sound system and other goods were found burgled. The total loss in the burglary were worth Rs 1 lakh claimed the complainant.Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 457 and 380 of the IPC and have started further investigation.Police said that the circumstantial evidences suggest that the miscreants were helped by insider as burglary without the help of insider is difficult.
The premises which is monitored round the clock is vigil tightly.The on duty guard and the staff would be questioned and the CCTV footages would be searched during the investigation.
The reason for the delay in keeping the information of the incident for five days and later reporting the incident remains unclear. Management staff of jail have not provided any detail and senior officials have not issued any statement on the incident which was not revealed for long.Habitual offenders of the area would be quizzed in the further investigation.
