Unhygienic conditions jeopardising life in Mhow

Published on:

The health, hygiene and cleanliness situation is deteriorating day by day in Mhow town. The choked drainage due to improper cleaning is resulting in many water borne diseases. People are bound to fill the drinking water in such dirty conditions due to negligence of cantonment board authorities.

The public water tap beside Indore Mhow road at Yadav Mohalla is spreading diseases with water. The condition of public water tap is so dirty that dirt has covered the walls of the water tap.

locals alleged that since long time the water tank has not been cleaned by the cantonment board authorities. The maintenance chart is also missing from the water tank on which the date of cleaning is mentioned. To add the trouble to the locals who fill water from the tap cantonment board authorities have placed an iron garbage box in front of the public water tap. It becomes very difficult for the locals when they fill water from the tap as the foul smell coming from the garbage store makes them dizzy and sick.

locals said that clean drinking water is the fundamental right of the citizen. Cantonment board Mhow which comes under defense ministry of India is unable to provide clean drinking water and cleanliness to the citizens.

On the other hand government of India provide a large fund for the proper sanitation facility, clean drinking water and cleanliness of the cantonment area but it seems that this fund is misused and not properly implemented in Mhow Cantonment Board.
