The verdict of the Assembly elections is yet to be declared on December 8, but the competition among the BJP leaders has intensified over taking credit of the possible victory.

Senior party leaders of the BJP in Madhya Pradesh had been claiming so far that the only winning factor in the elections was clean image of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the development works done by him.

BJP’s vice-president and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Uma Bharati on Thursday, while talking to mediapersons claimed that the BJP would form Government for third consecutive term in the State. However, she claimed that she played an important role in it, for which she is taking pride.

She assured support to Chouhan for a crime-and-corruption-free regime after he assumes the State’s reins of power for the third time. She told that being in the party or out of the party, she has always been a reason behind keeping the Congress out of power in Madhya Pradesh.

“The 5.1% votes translating into 12 lakh electors that were received by the Bharatiya Jan Shakti in the 2008 polls have been cast in the BJP’s favour and will aid the party in securing majority. I am glad that the phobia regarding me was wiped out,” Bharti claimed.

Besides, she did not forget to mention that she addressed 65 election meetings in 50 Assembly constituencies. She claimed that Modi also contributed in the success of the party.

Meanwhile, Commerce and Industry Minister of Madhya Pradesh Kailash Vijayvargiya told mediapersons that it was only the effect of Modi wave that gripped the people in the State. Only with his image, the saffron party is out to win all the four States.

Notably, till the polling day, BJP’s national general secretary Ananth Kumar, State BJP president Narendra Singh Tomar, BJP’s national vice president Prabhat Jha and other leaders coming from New Delhi had claimed that Shivraj factor was working in the State.
