The SP said, during interrogation, it has been found that he used to make a fake note by photocopying the real note.  Chemical was applied on fake notes to avoid suspicion. The customer were told to wash the note in hot water, the chemical will come off and the note will look like real.

During interrogation, it was found out that the gang people used to demonstrate to the customers before buying fake notes.
